Timestamps are seconds, not milliseconds. Multiply by 1000 for JavaScript Date.
Seconds or milliseconds
Unix time is seconds. JavaScript Date takes milliseconds, so a timestamp of 1761696000 becomes 1761696000000. Getting this wrong lands you in January 1970.
Why the date looks different in two places
A timestamp has no timezone — it is an instant. The same value renders as different clock times depending on the viewer. Store UTC, display local.
The 2038 problem
32-bit signed timestamps overflow in January 2038. Anything storing dates as 32-bit integers needs to move to 64-bit before then.
